1. Plagiarism
is unacceptable - even for slash. If your story sounds too
much like someone else's, it needs changing to make it your own. If
there is a complaint by another author, your story will be removed,
so please be careful.
2. There must be sex in your story - that's the whole point! It
doesn't need to be very explicit, but it needs to be there, and
preferably in every chapter if that's how you're writing. If
you have a sexless story, there are plenty of other places for
you to post them. Hetsmut is accepted, as well as slash.
3. How to get high star ratings:
a. SEX! Make sure there's plenty of good, hot sex in
your story.
b. Story and Plot: Your fiction must have a plot of
some kind, otherwise it is simply porn and not the higher standard
of erotica that I try to keep to in the Blue Side. If you
need a beta reader to help you with this, simply ask. There
are some very qualified people who can give you some good constructive
criticism.
c. Grammar and Spelling: If you have trouble with this,
please ask for help. There are proof readers available.
d. Choose your couples carefully. This is my own subjective
opinion and not as important as the other criteria. If your
story involves M/M, then there's no problem, but slip a P in there
and you may loose a star, unless of course, you have a well written
story with an amazing plot.
4. Have fun writing your story, and try to be imaginative. There
are no rules for plots, so get as crazy as you like.
5. If a story goes unfinished for an extended period of time,
it may be removed. It's ok to have a work in progress, but
you must show that you are actually working on it.
6. Please keep in mind that "Micky" is spelled
without the "e". God I hate that!
7. Due to formatting problems with different word processors,
all fics are posted using the Ariel font. I know this is
limiting, but it's the only font that seems to work well with all
the different formats I receive.
8. Please stick to basic writing conventions:
a. Two spaces between sentences. This makes it easier
for computer reading.
b. Please don't "Tab" for a new paragraph, just
hit "enter" for a blank line. This is another formatting
problem, and can be difficult to fix when I try to post it. If
you tab your paragraphs, I may have to guess where you wanted those
paragraphs to be, and it probably won't come out the way you intended.
Thank you,
