So, it seems we have a few choices for the next RR.  There is a very cute first chapter by HMC called "Nurse Micky" which may potentially be a nice start to something.  She has another one that I will post later today (as soon as I get to it).  Then there's the orgy RR which stirred a little enthusiasm, and more suggestions still coming.  Make your voice heard, ladies.  Tell us what you want to do and who the fuck is gonna write this thing... aside from JG.

I can't seen to get into the Nurse Micky RR but the Secrets sounds quite good. Although personally the Rocky Horror RR has wet my whistle (British slang not as exciting as it's sounds LOL) so that would be my choice.

Uh... I see what you mean. The problem that I have with the "Rocky Horror" idea is that it's already a story. So we would only be doing a rewrite of it with the Monkees instead of the other characters. I don't see a lot of freedom to develop anything too far in this one, so I'm tending to lean toward one of the other ideas. I do think the Rocky Horror is worth an attempt, but probably not for a round robin. Thoughts anyone?

Monkee Horror doesn't have to be a re-write just because it starts out that way. There are many posibilities to it. Like: Micky could get mistaken for Rocky somehow, Mike could direct the floor show, even though this would be a gross idea it's still an idea, Davy could try to have a threesome with Magenta and Columbia... Hey Micky could get in that too, kick the troll out. Well he would get into that threesome if Mike gave him permission. Just some ideas. I sure would love to sing "Toucha toucha touch me" with Micky... but that wouldn't be in the story.

I understand what you're saying. I know it doesn't have to be an actual rewrite, but to bring in more established characters from one existing story is just a little too confining for me. There's also the problem of everyone having to be familiar with Rocky Horror. I think I just like to keep the RR's as a bigger challenge than what the RH theme can offer. After all, it is a writing exercise, a fun one, but should be able to keep everyone on their toes and dig deep for plots and characterizations. I do think this would be a great piece for one person to work on, just not as a collaboration. I'm still counting votes though.

Did you see the latest People magazine? There's a little cut-out of Mike's head and a blurb about how the snug-fitting knit caps on so many recording artists' heads can be traced to our primate ancestry...the Monkees Mike Nesmith. Just a quick post to let you guys know that I'm still around and sticking my head in, so to speak. Think I finally figured out what's wrong with this damn computer, but unfortunately it is holding all of my stories hostage. Hmm. Technology, gotta love it.

Davy was in town last night, or should I say TOO FUCKING EARLY this morning, but there was no way I was going to get my butt out of bed to see him. Sorry Davy, but one thing only keeps me occupied from one to five am, and rock-and-roll shopping ain't it. Hope it was fun.

I see. I think you're having this problem because of your browser, I'm guessing Netscape. Please do yourself a favor and get a real browser that can read simple CSS. Go to Microsoft and download Internet Explorer, it's free and you'll see lots of stuff you've been missing with that other piece of shit. This also goes for all of you using the AOL browser, just use IE instead.

You can see the highlighted text because your browser can't read CSS code. This is a big problem that we web designers have to put up with, so what we've done to fix this is to not design for shitty browsers anymore. That's why you see a lot of "site best viewed in IE" all over the place.

As for the chat, just IM me at around 9 tonight so I can send you an invite.  You can also give me your IM screen names so I can send you one automatically.  This way everyone who is on IM will get an invitation to the room.  I know it's a pain in the ass, but it really is the best solution to the chat room problem. If you click on the "Chat Room" link it will take you to those instructions and not a chat room. I hope this is clear to everyone. If not... well, tough shit!

BTW, MG, thank you for all those lovely pics you sent. I'll be sure to get them up in the BB shortly.

Hello, long time no say. RL has been crazy and getting worse (the ex is in town and driving me up the wall) Which means all writing to finish open stories is on hold at the moment. But Dona has a story that I think is my best so far in my writing of Monkees.

To WTM - that was wriitng in 2002 tothe challenge thanksfor the compliemnt - a few of the regulars were my cheerleaders in writing that. It is currently in rewriting stages.

Talking of Gorrilaz, have u ever noticed a kind of resemblence to the Monkees, apart from their name? It could just be me and some kind of trance-induced trip thing but i could swear that there is a smililarity. For example:

2D - MICKY
Reason: i found this about 2D on their website, and doesnt sound too different from Mickster, especially the idolising of another bandmate (raises eyebrows):

first off, that thing about the gorillaz..i'm buying it. love the band and will look for the monkees connections now. hmmm.
anyway, while i was surfing the web and found myself on yet another monkees fansite littered with spinning gifs and other assorted annoyances, i suddenly realised how little people here in the box speak of peter tork. i am sure i am not the first person to notice this but the reason i find this just a little odd is that, of all the monkees, i have heard about peter porking his way through life and his legions of fans more than anyone else. that's not to say the other's didn't get (and still do) their fair share of nookie but knowing the reputation peter has and knowing what this place is like (dirty, the way i likes it) i find it, i want to say ironic but that doesn't sound right..guess i find it intersting. the question is, the randiest monkee doesn't have his randy fans over here. why not?

Roo, always a treat to hear your two-cents. You are so right, roo, Peter is scarce here at Head. He's just outnumbered by the Mike and Micky fans, hence the lack of good Peter smut (if there is such a thing) to be found in the BS. I think it has something to do with the type of fans. You see, Mike and Micky fans tend to be generally older, practical and more sex depraved, so we can't really help ourselves. Our minds gravitate naturally toward the sick and deviant rolls we put the guys in. Peter fans will more likely have their heads in the air, and so like to think of him as some sweet innocent thing who remains a virgin even today, or something like that - I'm making this up as I go along. Truth is, most Pete fans just aren't into slash - go figure.

*coughs*. Please, let me explain to all those who don't know The Gorrilaz. The Gorrilaz are a cartoon rock/indie band (a bit like a modern day Archies) created by Blur frontman Damon Albarn (spl!?) Anyway, they are drawn, made-up yadda yadda yadda, but they have been on tour (quite strangely) although no tv program as yet. They are, shall we say, cartoons of a more adult variety - not so much sex but as in violence, crudeness and plain drugs. They're music is ok and they were no.1 in Britian a little while ago. It was the name that attracted me, and since then, i have seen nothing but resembelence to our prefab four. I shall have to send u a pic

Ok, I'm gettin' it now.  Murdoc has a very close resemblance to Mike - scary.  I can also see the Micky in 2D, and Noodle is a dead ringer for Davy, female or not.  As always, Pete is the odd man out.  And they're called the Gorillaz - I think the creators, at the very least, new of the Monkees, I'll bet it's what got this cartoon off the ground.  Very interesting.

Not many people believed me in my little circle when i pointed out the resemebelence, but with the drawings and the so-called behaviour patterns of the Gorrilaz as i mentioned earlier, there must have been some subconcious thing going on in the creators mind. I mean, the way 2D apparently idolises Murdoc and Murdoc having an attitude problem...hmmm Micky and Mike for sure. If u haven't heard the Gorrilaz, then download their single 'Clint Eastwood' off the net or something, it's not bad.

I got purple angel wings on my back. Wow, i feel like such a badass. It hurt, but the ends justify the means i guess. Cuz i think it's beautiful. And I designed it myself, per advice of my boyfriend.

But FUCK if it doesn't burn right now!!! My parents will skewer me. Oh well.

Glad to see someone out there Paula! The BB HAS been quiet and I have not helped much!! Dona, I do not have IM, I once tried sdownloading it but was not successful. Any suggestions? That's why I have not made the last 2 chats anyway.....

What's happening to all of us? I something bigger than Monkee Smut taking over us? I guess it has for me...I will have to work on this!!!

Neopets is a web site. It's where you create your own pets. They have their own world and you can do all kinds of things with them. It's a lot like taking care of a real pet only better. Because you can choose when to pay attention to them, you don't have to get after them, and there are no surprises around the house. That also means that you don't have to worry about housebreaking them. Well I should go. I have to wrap presents today. Plus I have to find one more thing for my boyfriend.

It's nearly Christmas so i felt inspired to write a poem:

I wonder what will be under my tree this year
The usual boring presents that never bring me cheer
A book, some socks, a knitted sweater that really isn't me
Some candy canes, a wooly hat - i've already got fuckin three
But nobody could ever guess what I really desire
