Ok, point taken, although i still feel art is a concept that can't be defined...it
is one of those words of the language which means nothing (like 'nice' means
nothing) as Flaubert said: 'Language is but a cracked kettle with which we
beat a rhythm for bears to dance while all the while we try to move the stars
to pity'. Art is what you make it, and i feel that it is nothing and everything
(both of which we can not possibly grasp) as i have never come across true
art. There are always flaws for me, and for me, real art is something beyond
human capabilities.
Nice having a discussion with you Dona, it makes a change from trying to educate
the powdered geegaws that i often find myself with.

Ok, I'll go another round. Flaubert is bullshit. Think instead
of quoting. The word "art" does have a meaning. You can
look it up in any dictionary, but "what it is" and when
to use it is a different story. I'm afraid I have to disagree with
you on the unattainable grasp of a concept "...beyond human
capabilities". If it cannot be human, then you're talking about
some god-like being who can achieve it, though in religion god is
far from flawless. I don't believe in any god, so that doesn't work
for me, but you could replace god with nature which is filled with
all kinds of flaws, so neither work in your formula. Which means
that your definition of art is that there is and cannot be any such
thing, therefore the entire point (from your perspective) is moot.
My point is, that sometimes a flaw is a wonderful thing, and its
those flaws that create one of those layers I was talking about.
In other words, you can't have perfection without flaws.
"Powdered geegaws"??

Well can we agree to disagree? Seeing as art is something, in my opinion, that
isn't tangible, then we can neither prove a theory or disprove it. I just
feel that we haven't reached art yet and as long as we havent then it's beyond
human capabilities. But let's give up on this now, we're both as stubburn
as each other and i hate debating over the internet.
truce?

I'm not fighting with you, babe. I respect your opinion (no matter
how silly I find it). I just tend to go a little overboard on topics
like this and I haven't had a good debate on "what is art" in
a long time. One thing I do find interesting though: My view on the
subject is so typically American. We think that anything is attainable
and there's no such thing as impossibilities. That's how we're taught
in our universities, and it gives us more confidence and nerve to
try. Your have that more European way of thinking which is without
the American arrogance, and is more yielding to something like a
higher power. Well, I thought it was interesting. I'll stop now.
Thanks for the debate, it was very enjoyable.

Ooh, monkee paws at twenty paces girls.
Actually it is great to see a fiery discussion on this board. Good for you
to both express your opinions with such passion.
As a neanderthal myself on the pro's and cons of art, I have no opinion each
way, most of it goes completely over my head. I prefer to admire other works
of art like Micky's beautiful contoured butt!

Hello. I was reading a music mag today and there was an advert (from HMV),
saying that the Monkees were releasing a DVD of their summer tour that they've
just done. I was just wondering if anything like that has been released in
the States yet, or is it just us?? I don't know wheter i'm gonna get it or
not, i don't think i can stand much more of recent Davy, he does manage to
drive me insane.
Hey, when are we gonna get the next bit of the RR????? I re-read it recently,

I haven't heard anything about a DVD release, but then I'm not the
one interested in the present day tours. And if I have to look at

for the RR, JG promised she was on it, but I haven't heard a word.
Maybe someone else should have a go at it - any takers?

Ah, Erin, how right you are! Micky's ass is not only a work of art, but evidence
that perfection CAN be achieved. In fact, the only thing that could make
it look even better is the faint imprint of my teeth on one gorgeous little
cheek.
Now for the real purpose of this post: HMC, I hope you won't keep me waiting
too long for the next installment of 54 Monkees. I love what you're doing with
this story. Did I detect a little hint of weakness in Mike in that last chapter?
Oh, I hope, I hope, I hope. mc
MC, how nice of you to join us. Yes, you're absolutely one-hundred
percent correct about Micky's (22-yr-old) ass, and the bite marks
would highlight those tight cheeks beautifully. I also must agree
with you on HMC's efforts. She's turned into quite a good writer.
Now, if she'd only write faster!

I'm sure that most of you are aware of the "Beltway Sniper" who has
been picking off victims in the DC suburbs of Suburban Maryland and Northern
Virginia (there's been one DC shooting, but it was near the DC-Maryland border)
Like many in the area I'm waiting with baited breath for this to end cause
a lot of people are scared spitless. Personally, I'm getting through this the
way I got through 9-11 by living my normal life and just being more careful.
Actually I feel pretty safe because I live in the Capitol Hill area, one ironic
side effect is to many people DC seems better than the surrounding suburbs!
I am confident that they will soon catch this guy, and put him behind bars.
And tthat this yahoo will finally convince people to take a serious look at
how crazy yahoos like this jerk can so easily get a gun.
Byrnsie-Girl
Hi B-G, you've been gone a while. Glad to hear from you, though
the circumstances could be better. I only just heard of this sniper
the other day. How many people has this guy whacked? We get these
here all the time, and like DC, it only happens in the outer boroughs
like the Bronx or Queens, almost never here in Manhattan. I don't
know if I could compare this to 9/11 though. I was a mess after that
- snipers I can handle, skyscrapers falling down around me I can't.
Anyway, Capitol Hill is a nice neighborhood, isn't it? You shouldn't
have to worry about snipers there. Stay safe.

Hey Everyone!
I am NOT dead, nor missing, BUT, have had much trouble getting into this site!
Not sure why???? Anyway, as for the RR, I did what I did before, printed out
the pages, studied the story and DO NOT have anything coming to me!!! I have
also been EXTREMELY busy....but I have not given up. I do however, FULLY understand
if you have given up on me. So....someone else can step forward OR give me
a hint what to do with Mike. He is in such rotten shape I am having difficulty.
Let me know your wishes....I HAVE NOT given up!
JG
Oh, you ARE alive. Well, that's good news, so where's the RR? The
junkies are getting restless and if they don't get the RR they're
gonna start bugging me for DS. You don't know what to do with Mike?
You could always kill him off, or he can see Micky's loving face
and suddenly he's well again. I'm sure once that stick is painfully
removed he'll be ready for a good fucking. If you're really stuck,
then I suppose I can let you off the hook - it's up to you, just
let me know.

Hello all! I'm back!!! Sorry, I've been in Germany for four days. Quite cool,
yet no slash ideas were spurred, i had no time to even breathe!!!! Although
i am thinking of gruesome, freeky things for the next No Man's Land. So,
because of this, i have another question:
What was the scariest scene you have ever seen in a movie?
I wanna know what was successful that made u scared. I won't use the scene,
that would be stealing, but i would like to know what kind of things scared
you, what made you look over your shoulder (evil Micky grin).
Me? The scariest bit in a movie i have seen is in Sixth Sense when this girl
appears in the little boy's tent and vomits everywhere, i dunno why but it
scares the hell out of me. Most movies i can watch a second time and not be
scared, but it's that scene that i can't watch (u may have noticed incidentely
that vomit appears a lot in my fics.)
So, remember, what scared you the most in a movie (doesn't have to be a horror,
but i assume most will be).
Luv ya shotguns
WTM
xx
You were in Germany and didn't have one slash idea?! Well, I hope
you had a nice time. You pose another interesting question. Hmmm...I
can't really think of a particular scary scene, I'm too seasoned
for that, but the scariest film for me is still "The Exorcist",
not so much for spinning heads and pea soup vomit, but for the three-hour
long tension that film puts you through. It's the atmosphere it creates
with the sound effects and no music that makes it so eerie - still
can't sit through the uncut version without flipping the channel.
~Donatella
Wednesday, October 23, 2002 2:21 PM
Monkee annuals? Mommy and Daddy? How cute!!! I have a purple Monkees annual,
but it was written in Britain so it has so many British overtones!!! It's
very funny, it asks Mike what he dislikes and he says he hates being called
Woolhat - then the whole book consists of comic strips that only refer to
him as woolhat!!! Very amusing!!! I got it for the pictures!!
Luv ya shotguns
WTM
xx
ps, Dona, i couldn't even get past the beginning of the Exorcist, (lots of
vomit) and the voices that came from the kid just freaked me out big time...i
still haven't watched it all the way through!!
Yes, the voices! That's what's so disturbing. You should try to
get through the whole thing sometime - it's an experience.
~Donatella
Thursday, October 24, 2002 7:04 PM
Hi Guys
Yeah WTM, I have that annual too and I also have the 1968 and 1969 ones too.
They were all made in England and even in the later one where Micky has curly
hair, Mike is still referred to as Woolhat. It was in the 1968 annual that
it mentions the Mummy and Daddy thing, it was a line of writing around the
start of the comic strip story, it reads and I quote:
"Once upon a time in lands where the eye of man had never set foot, there
lived a few Monkees, four to be precise. They were called Daddy Monkee, Mummy
Monkee and the little Monkees were called David and Peter."
I got them mainly for the pics too, although the stories are quite funny and
the quizzes are very odd too.
My scariest scene in a movie, hmm. Never seen the Excorist, I am a big wimp
and it looks too scary. I have to agree with WTM that the scene in Sixth Sense
is pretty bad but I also think the scene in Silence Of The Lambs when Buffalo
Bill is stalking Jodie Foster at the end in the dark is very scary. Oh and
most scenes from Omen and Omen II.
I won't be around for a few days as I am going to a fellow Monkees fan house.
I hope there is some good smut posted when I return. And Dona the thing you
hate me to mention, please hurry up, I want to know what happens.
speak to ya all soon
love and hugs
erin
;@)
The Omen? You're joking, right? It's not scary at all, and I don't understand
why you two find that Sixth Sense scene scary either. You both need to watch
something really scary so you can get over this affliction. Have a good time
at the Monkee house, Erin.

I didn't take the sixth sense to be a scary movie. I remember a movie that
really freaked me out when I was little was The Blob. I don't know why but
some reason a big pile of goo that crawled around eating people scared me
shitless. Also, I don't remember the name of it but my parents would know
it, I saw this one movie that scared me a few years ago. It had a bunch of
zombies in a mall. What really scared me in that movie was when a couple
of the zombies were attacking the people through the elevator. Now that's
scary! My parents said that the first time they saw that movie at the drive
in, they were too scared to go into malls for a while, so I see why. I just
wish I could remember the name of it.
Stranger
Wow, me too! When I was about five I saw The Blob on TV and completely
freaked - I can handle it now. Speaking of zombies, the original
Night of the Living Dead is pretty darn creepy too. I'd have to put
that on the list for truly scary films. Can't remember the name of
the one in the mall, but it does sound familiar.
~Donatella
Friday, October 25, 2002 1:09 PM
I do believe the sniper has been caught, or am i behind too??
About the sixth sense Dona, it's, for me, one of those things that u know u
shouldnt be scared of, cause it's not scary, but always makes u jump or cringe.
Like in The Shining, i can sit all the way through it fine, i love it, but
when Jack Nicholson reaches into the bathroom to open the lock and Wendy cuts
his hand with the knife - that always makes me cringe!!! I don't care about
the made axe wielding but soppy old me hates it when she cuts his hand - i
have no idea why, just gives me the shivers.
Luv ya shotgun
wtm
ps, Erin, have fun at ur friends, i wish i had a Monkee pal i could visit -
i have a Beatles pal though, so that's ok!!!
xx
See? We're actually ahead, it's Charlemagne that's behind. I find
The Shining to be a completely creepy film rather than scary. To
me, the part that disturbs me the most is when those two creepy girls
are standing in the hall - I almost can't look.

So now Micky's fucking George Harrison? He does get around.
The 2002 slash collection in the BS still needs to be fixed. But you can still
get in there if you type in the URL's of the fics you want to read. It's
a minor link problem, just change the "F" in Fiction to a lowercase "f".
So if you're trying to get in to www.donatellashead.com/Fiction/WhateverStoryP1.html
change it to www.donatellashead.com/fiction/WhateverStoryP1.html and that

Here's something fun to do when you want to waste time. Go to http://www.googlism.com/index.htm and
start putting people's names in. Mine didn't turn up anything, but "Donatella" picked
up a whole bunch of stuff, including "donatella is a completely different
kind of person" and "donatella is one of my favorite women" (I'd
agree with both those statements). Put in Mike's name are you get things like "mike
nesmith is a very strange man" and "mike nesmith is obviously not
home right now" (both true, in so many ways), plus my favorite, "mike
nesmith is living in new mexico and wallowing in liquid paper". Micky's
name gets you "micky dolenz is allergic to elephants", "micky
dolenz is no frank sinatra" (very, very true), and the best one of all, "micky
dolenz is happier with girls". Hmm, wonder what Mike would have to say
about that?
- LT
Well, that was interesting. Aren't you too busy to waste time? Nice
to see you in the BB again. I'm sure everyone is relieved that you're

zombies in the mall is Day of the Dead. Perhaps Dawn of the Dead, but i don't
think so. I love zombie movies. And now, on to the smut reading... so i can
be inspired to finish my own! :-)

Oh yeah, those doll movies were a little creepy, but they're also

Well that's all I have to say right now.
Stranger The Birthday Girl
Well, a very happy birthday to you, Stranger! Your boyfriend sounds
like a sweetie. I hope he gives you everything you want on your special
day ;)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY from across the waters!!!!
What a cutie your boyfriend is, makes me almost miss having one about. I can
do without the dirty socks and leaving the toilet seat up though LOL.

I should have known this was coming. My friends and family threw me a surprise
birthday party last night. My boyfriend took me out to see a movie. Then
when we got back he led me down to the basement. Everyone was down there. My
friend came home from college, nad my brothers band got back together for
one performance just for me. It was something that I really needed too. That
was a really great surprise.
Stranger
What a nice surprise. Hope you had fun, oh, and I also hope you
got laid for your birthday.

Here is a public THANK YOU to MickChick for wrapping up the RR. I failed miserably
this time. Sorry guys. Hooray to MC though!
Well, I'm just back from seeing Dacy. The little troll was rather raunchy!
LOTS of jokes about his small organ...just lots! Also, he mentioned having
gotten a DUI (years ago) and being petrified for the 7 years following of getting
another because of the mandatory 90 days in jail. HE SAID, he thought he'd
be rather popular in jail, mentioned having pencils in his ears (my friend
had to explain that to me...handles for the blowjob recipient to yank his head
closer), running around with his ass cheeks puckered constantly and several
other references to jailhouse abuse. Too funny! Obviously something little
Davy has thought about!
Anyway, it was a fun time, despite what you Trollhaters might think! Hope to
see you all [sic] at the chat!
JG
Dacy? You saw Dacy? So Dacy does like it up the ass, just as I suspected.
I'll bet Dacy saw a lot of action back in the Monkee days. No wonder
he can't stay away from Mick. Who else would be willing to stick
their dick up his disgusting big ass? A sex addict, of course - the
perfect couple.
