I'd like to propose a question to the board: *coughs lightly*,

when reading fanfic, do you prefer real-life, or the TV characters? i know many fanfics do a little of both, I mean, your dark side Dona, seems to have Mike's character from real-life, yet in the tv setting. The same goes for Love Hurts...I mean, when we think about it, Mike's character in the TV series was as tame as a puppy, very soft and sometimes obnoxious. So what is it to be: real-life or TV? and another question...now that we have new junkies here since the last time i asked:

What is your fave fic style, Mean or Cuddly? We seem to get great reviews for both but what is your personal fave?

Hopefully that should get a few minds ticking. For me, i think i prefer the TV setting coz there's a lot more, as a writer, that can be done with it, although often there is a need to 'develop' (lol) the characters a bit.
On the Mean or Cuddly issue...I dont really know, i like both, i suppose it depends on my mood. Probably cuddly takes the lead a little more but then i read the Dark side and change my mind. GRRRR.

Hmm, nice question. Ah...I don't care, as long as it's hot. Ok, I can do better than that. You ask some of the age old fanfic questions: real vs. true character; how far do you go? But that's the great thing about fanfic, you can do whatever you want. If you choose to work on a strict character and setting from the original format, then fine, I like those stories. I choose to flesh out the characters to fit my own warped imagination while trying to stay true to the original. And you're right, we all use the "real" Mike, not the TV Mike. We do it because there has to be some conflict for a good story, and Mike, as the leader is the closest thing to that. I suppose we're just trying to improve on the original, and if that means changing a few things around, then so be it. You know I love the mean stuff, but I love your cuddly stories too. A very typical fanfic genre is hurt/comfort and that can be either mean or cuddly. Whatever works for you.

What a coincidence that you mention the hurt/comfort fanfic style. I haven't posted WTM's yet. Anyway, that's why its so popular, everyone seems to love the pain/pleasure which is kind of a sub-genre of hurt/comfort. Call it what you may, it's still S&M.

There seems to be alot of new peeps here recently. Great name: Horney for Micky. With a face and an ass like that - who isn't over Micky.

WTM question - I think when i write i am somewhere in between. I dunno know really. I prefer to write Mike more aggressive, Micky more fucked up, Peter less dumb and Davy more of a pain in the ass. I wouldn't say that I think of them as real people, they are still characters just a slant on their personalities i guess.

Cuddly Vs Mean, well as much as i love the Dark Side, i have to say Cuddly, i love Mike and Micky being so cute together, i'm a sucka for romance.

Out of the box SB is the only one I really talk at though Wendy is trying to get Monkeestalk going to be the talking part of SB. But SB overall is more tolerant of things than anything else. Seems Monkeesland kick Wendy off for cross posting a message that she didn't mean to post to them. But here we can say anything and explore things that others just don't get.

Well I wrote a rough draft of RR X, it sucks. nothing happens put moves the story along to find Mike and thats it. So it's sitting to be scrapped this weekend to write another one.

I have a sheik story challenge at SB. I'm writing it Gen there but I can easily flip it to be slash. I might just that this weekend to it.

you have a new one by WTM -- please post soon, it's a long weekend. I would love to read it.

RL vs. fiction. I have done both versions and just created my one type (mix of) so it's not an issue for me.

I find it a pain in the ass to clean out my email of all the crap that has accumulated from all the lists I'm on. This one in particular likes to do a lot of bullshiting about nothing, which really pisses me off during the deleting process.

Yeah, yeah, I figured it out already. So for those of you who haven't and have deleted the file just go on over to Microsoft and I'm sure you can recover the file. It's only used for java applets, so don't panic...unless you're trying to get in to the Blue Side. If your computer is filled with many versions of one file, then don't even worry about it.

First off, thanks for the welcomes, people. I appreciate it. :)

One day, I might write some smut if I can come up with a halfway-decent idea. But I'm not making any promises -- mostly because it takes me a long time to come up with an idea for a story in the first place. Heh. (And the whip isn't going to work much.)

Now, to answer WTM's questions:

"When reading fanfic, do you prefer real-life, or the TV characters?" Hm... I'm not sure about that one. I tend to go for almost any characterization of the guys, as long as it's believable, y'know? I'm not picky about that one at all.

"What is your fave fic style, Mean or Cuddly?" Just out of those two? I like Funny fics myself, but out of those two... um, either, but I tend to tolerate Mean fics more than the Cuddly fics. Fics that go overboard in cuddliness tend to make me wretch and run right for the "Darker Side" to recover from the sugar shock.

And I have to try to fuck a Monkee when I go to their concert next Friday? And here I thought I only had to take "proof pictures" for Fuzzy and Cin. Damn.

I feel so bad. :( I have neglected the box for such a long time. Work has kept me going pretty much, none stop, so there hasn't been much time for anything else. It looks like that may be the case for everyone else.

Well, let's start our holiday weekend with a bit of crappy gossip. I went touring around the web and visited sites that I haven't been to in months. One of them being AMM. I was laughing my ass off while I was in there. OMG...are you ready for this?! Someone is claiming that Peter recently gave them Herpies!!! I'm like thinking okay, if this is true; why was this person stupid enough to have sex, with someone who is known to stick his dick in who ever will let him, and not wear a condem? Please...why is it people like to place blame on the other when it was their stupid mistake too?

If all this bullshit is true then Peter's dick must be looking pretty bad. I know better than to say no one will want to have sex with him now but I'm sure someone will. At least when Micky got the clap he was young and stupid, but Peter is now being old and stupid. If Peter's not careful his dick's going to fall off and then where will he be? I guess all of his fans could take his dick and bronze it.

They're also talking about how bitter Peter has become. That he mistreats his fans a lot and that he is very bitter with his former band mates. Also it is being said that Peter's manager just fired him. Damn...Peter is being bashed up pretty bad over there, and if this is true in real life too. Peter has inched his way to number three with me...again. So I'd rather waste what little time I have in bashing Davy the bitter little bastard! Well that's it for me and my babbling for now. Fuckin virus, have these pricks got nothing better to do then destroy people's computers. Thanks for the warning Dona and thanks for hoax message whoever sent that.

I had a near death experience last night. Our neighbour, this asshole who's wife and kids have just left him and now all he does is sit and get drunk every night, left his microwave on and feel asleep. My mum and I could smell this burning and we thought it was in our house. We go and investigate and his house is full of smoke, the whole fucking thing could have gone up had we not gone round and woken him. He didn't even say thank-you, bastard. Our houses are joined so we could have been killed, some people have no consideration.

I had a large brandy when we got back home and watched some Monkees (for shock obviously) worked wonders, seeing those tight asses and gorgeous faces really cheered me up.

Not a very efficient way to do yourself in though, especially if you're gonna take half the neighborhood with you! He should've just taken some pills and a bottle of J.D., that should do it. I don't have the time to search for chapters. I have other people to do it for me, and when they find something really good or potential smut writers, they let me know. Yes, I have spies everywhere! Anyway, I will take your Micky suggestion into consideration, but that's not something that's gonna happen soon in DS. A lot of shit has to go on first before Mick can fuck Mike's brains out, not that I'm saying that will happen, but anything's possible.

I found out that TV Land is going to start showing The Monkees. It is going
to be part of the TV Land Kitchen (I think that's what it's called) on
Fridays through the weekend, which will start at 11 p.m. That's for anyone

Knowing how much of a Mike ass fan you are Dona, i had to tell you this. I was walking home today when this kid (he was about 17) strolled out in front of me. He wasn't much to look at and had blonde hair (urgh, brown hair is much nicer) but he had an ass to fucking die for. From the waist down it could have been Mike. Since you mentioned Mike's ass i have been compeled to watch it on screen and now it is fixed in my memory and i tell ya, this guy's ass was the same. He was wearing tight fitting jeans and wow, i nearly got run over trying to watch him as he disappeared round the corner LOL.

Oh and in answer to your question, i am volunteering at a charity called Cancer Research UK working in their shop. I have been helping out for more than a year there now and as i am still unemployed i have been going more often.

Well, I just watched As The World Turns with Micky as a vicar. Man, what was that all about??? I never watch soaps. Are the characters that "cartoonish" or was it just Micky? On the plus side, I thought he looked pretty good. Looked like he lost some weight and he appeared to be rested. I'd still do him!

Sounds like we have a lot of Birthdays here in the BB. Isn't that Taurus? Taurus is a very sexual sign isn't it?
