I found that a really interesting point Arrowhead. When i first thought of slash, i was a bit put off, coz some people can be really sick and not justify it if u know what i mean. Maybe i'm reading too much into this, but i find that the quality of the writing on this site is a very high standard, and as Dona expresses in the rules of the BS, it's not just plotless porn. The ideas and emotions that some people write are amazing and really get the characters down. Thats why people who normally wouldnt like slash read it and its believable. I mean, if we had a situation where the monkees just got off with each other with no thought involved, then it would seem unbelievable, but every story i've read seems to have all the emotions down, so everything seems perfectly natural, which makes the reader think again about slash.
The way they're written just makes everything seem possible and normal and even touching. I think there's more love stories than anything else on this site and that's just groovy (i will not make a Mike speech similar to Peter Tork and the Devil so dont worry), all i'm saying is that everyone who contributes here does a fine job in upholding a level of quality and decency (lol) and keeping within the realms of possibility and u should all give urselves a pat on the back. Now we ahouls also bow to Dona was giving us this chance in the first place.

Congrats to everyone, just thinking about all the great fiction has put me in a happy mood now.

Well, there's nothing worse than bad slash, unfortunately, there's a lot of it around out there. That would certainly turn me off to it. That's why we only have the best here and try to keep out all the crap. And ah, I don't think you're all bowing down quite low enough.

Hey...I have to agree with Erin. It's from the Pat Sajak show. Micky really did appear to have an intense look on his face, when he was singing that part of PVS. I think Micky has the knack of speaking with his eyes...always has. Look at him in Monkees AlaMode with that blonde chick. Micky's eyes speak lust and I also think that when he's horny his voice probably get's even more sexy. Damn...I wish I could hear him moaning during sex.:)

Now on to Arrowheads question. I have to agree with you, AH. I remember when I first stepped into the Blue and Dark Side. Slash was not something that was common knowledge to me, until I read the stories there. So I owe this site to opening me up to this particular kind of fanfic. Btw, I know exactly what site you were talking about AH. It surprised me to that the regulars on the board were very open minded and well, in some way supportive of slash fanfic. Some people are still very much against Monkee slash, but hey, I don't hold it against them. They have their right to there likes and dislikes and so do I. So long as we both realize that and understand it, then we should all get along.:)Fuzzy

I'll have to get a hold of a copy of this...you did say "Pat Sajak", didn't you? Oh, the horror! Who can forget the irritating Pat Sajak show? What a horrible experiment in TV talk shows, thank god we all survived the era. So what board is this that surprised everyone with their views of slash? I'm curious to read what they had to say.

I have to admit that it doesn't look like there's much between Micky's legs in that picture. But it sure did make me want to dive down there and find out for myself.

Wow you guys have been busy, lots of post to catch up on.

Pat Sajak, that's his name. No I haven't got the interview neither, just the two songs - the bit that made me laugh was when George Hamilton comes across the stage (not literally LOL) and hands each Monkee money, Peter gladly takes his even going as far as to check it's real. Mick does look sexy on that, i love that hat he wears and there is a bulge in the pants no doubt about that.

Arrowhead is right, there are some narrowminded people about. I for one have friends on other Monkees sites who would probably never speak to me again if they knew i dabbled in the dark side LOL. I like this piece of escapsim though. I know that i can write virtually what i like and none of u will judge. I think people as a nation judge too quickly and as AH said they are more like love stories than just writing for the sake of a sex scene. I think that since finding this site, i have been able to put more of my writing skills to the test. Don't ever change it, Dona.

I just popped over to the place where the offended slash hater posted her 'i hate slash' post and realised that i know her. I got an email from her a few weeks ago coz she got my address off some sort of guestbook. She said she had a fic on fanfic.net and i said so did i. She hasnt written to me since and i found that on the review for one of Paula's stories (i believe thats right) she said that slash was sick. Now i find this post.
I hope it wasnt me that got her on this 'i hate slash' trip coz its just stupid. Everyone's entitled to their opinion but she just appears to be homophobic more than anything. I mean, she could come up with some arguements as to why before she shoots her mouth off...although i am pleased that the other 'normal' monkee fans (lol, is there such a thing?) disagreed with her.

Sorry, my rant for this evening...i've been doing too much revision and watching One flew over the Cuckoo's nest...there may even be a fic in it!

The guy is kind of blond, so its not Mike and he looks too big and skinny to be Pet, so I guess he was just some guy working on the set. Hello folks. Wanted to comment and some things discussed in the last two days
1) How did I find HEAD... Leenys told me to post my Love is Bittersweet here. That's when I cruised the box for a few weeks and joined a chat to meet Fuzzy, Vanity, WTM, MC, Arrowhead, Dona, and a few others. And I have been coming back ever since.
2) Dark thoughts -- I never felt comforatble writing the slash or angst till coming here. Now It's comfortable to write along with gen. I think if I don't start doing more gen and SB - I'm going to get a title there.
3) my "I hate Slash" post directed to one of my stories is at fanfiction.net. The little intro said slash. Dawn stood up for me about it. It's a signed review so either I have to take it all down and repost or let it stand. It's not a BIG flame.. just I think slash is sick. Oh well, you just don't get it.
4) Don't have a fourth point. Maybe later.

That's exactly what my shrink says. I think I've said this before, but it is good to get all those dark thoughts out, and it is so much more interesting to read about. And just to set things straight (no pun intended), the slash fight on SB was pretty irrational, and I thought I'd stick in my two-cents worth. Since I *am* the goddess of the genre, I thought it only appropriate I give you my definition of the word. First, there is no such thing as "straight slash" - period. That genre is referred to as "smut" or "het-smut", not slash. The slash genre is strictly between established characters from books, film, TV, etc., and is always homosexual in practice, hence the term "het-smut" as opposed to "het-slash", which does not exist. Ok, so who wants to fight me? Come on, I'm ready for ya.

I think I know who that mystery man is behind Micky in the picture. Based on the skinny body and greasy, stringy, blonde hair, I'd say that's Mike's(I think)friend, David Price. He shows up in almost all the Monkee episodes, either in the background or playing some bit part. He's the guy with the poison who's sharpening a knife in Prince and Paupers, the Davy look-alike (yeah, right) in Fern and Davy, etc. mickchick

Yeah David Price was Davy's stand in wasn't he? He, Ric Klien (Mick's mate), David Pearl (Peter's Stand In) and John London (Mike's) were always in eps, you can spot them all the time especially in series 2. It could well be him, though i haven't seen the full pic and i can't stay i have studied David Price's ass at all.

Back to the bulge, I kinda see what ya mean but it is still pretty hard (excuse the pun) to determine. One of the best eps for bulge shots is I Was A Teenage Monster, I don't know what excited Davy but i am sure there is something going on there. Check it out!

Now, I suppose I could really give it to one of those other sites for being such ignorant assholes, just to start some shit, but that would contradict everything our liberal site stands for, so I guess we have to find something else to fight about.
